My name is Steve Jackson and I am a doTERRA Wellness Advocate. Also, I am an entrepreneur, network marketer, online marketer, eBook author and podcaster. For many years I have been a passionate advocate of network marketing and later online marketing.

Why should you become a doTERRA consultant?

There are various reason why doTERRA is a great opportunity. I would argue that doTERRA has a simple marketing plan and great products. For others it could be that they love of the oils, but they want to make some extra money.

I think the main reason for joining doTERRA is because it is very affordable business. Also, you can earn a passive income for years into the future. It is easy to sham network marketing as a business model, but success is really possible for those who take serious action. This results in many consultants being so successful that they see the traditional employment as underwhelming and soul destroying.

I understand that work is not running a business and that doTERRA is like running a business? Also, running a network marketing business like doTERRA is not like having a traditional job. Nevertheless, many people join doTERRA because they are dissatisfied with their jobs.

Compared with other companies in the network marketing industry, doTERRA is an outstanding company. Many members would never join a network marketing business apart from doTERRA.

doTERRA began in 2008 and offers therapeutic grade essential oils, hair care, skin care, weight loss products and supplements. Mainly, doTERRA is an essential oils company that offers other products that are infused with essential oils.

What are doTERRA essential oils?

doTERRA essential oils are natural compounds found in various plants. This gives the plants its fragrance, but also its immunity. This is the main reason why essential oils are so vital to our personal wellness.

Where does doTERRA operate?

doTERRA has a strong presence in the United State, Europe, Oceania, Latin America and Asia. doTERRA continues to grow due to the attractiveness of its products and the passion of their consultants.

Does doTERRA have any competition?

doTERRA is massive in the health and wellness industry, so they are the only game in town. The reason is that doTERRA products are perfectly timed for those hungry for natural wellness products, that are high quality, safe and pure.

Since being in doTERRA I get people asking me about doTERRA. So, below I have put a list of the most common questions

What is the difference between a wellness advocate and a wholesale customer?

Most people enroll as a wholesale customer, because the doTERRA wholesale membership allow them to buy their products are wholesale. They just want to buy the essential oils at the best price possible. Also, they may be interested in getting free products via the loyalty rewards program.

The Wellness Advocate on the other hand is interested in the business, even though they may also love the oils.

Does a Wellness Advocate need to sale a set amount of products each month, like a quota?

No, there is no monthly sales quota. You can build your business at your own pace. However, your commitment will determining the amount of money you earn.

How much does it cost to get a doTERRA wholesale membership?

It is possible to start as a Wellness Advocate for as little as $35. (for other countries scroll to the bottom of this page) I would suggest investing in a product enrollment kit, because you will need some products to share. In addition, the savings on the kits are outstanding and the membership fee is waived.

How much inventory will I need to hold?

You do not need to hold any products at home. However, it is always a good to have a box of oils around to share with customers. Shipping arrives quickly to your door, but if you find overtime your customers want their oils quickly have a few extra oils available.

Will I be rushing around doing delivers and collect money?

Fortunately, NO!

In the past, before the internet, that was the case, but today, it not. Your customers can make their own orders by opening a Wholesale account. If they are not members and just want to purchase products at retail, you can send them to your doTERRA shop link.

I was told that I would need to run classes?

You can run classes and many of my team do run classes, but it is not a must. Building your business is a very personal. Mainly need to connect with your skill set and personality. I mainly share my doTERRA online as you may have noticed if you read my short profile at the beginning of this page.

Your main strategy should be creating is a system of daily actions that can be duplicatable by your team.

I know nothing about essential oils, can I still run a doTERRA business?

Yes, of course. However, I would suggest researching your favorite oils as a starting point. Then add a new oil to your collection once a week until you have some knowledge about the oils. There will be lots of information about the oils in your back office explaining what you can and cannot do with the oils.

How many hours a week will I need to commit to my doTERRA business?

The people that want to do this type of business are rushed of their feet. They are already busy people that enjoy being busy and working on something new. Depending on how you intend to run your business, time management is the key. Busy people have already learnt how to manage their days, but others may find it more difficult at first.

Here are some key suggestions on time management:

Treat doTERRA as a business.

Work on your business minimum: 1-2 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Make every minute count.

If you are working online: Share new content everyday. (My team receive training in online and social media marketing)

If you are intending to doing classes, do at least one a week.

If you are using word of month marketing: Share the oils naturally, like you would recommend a wine or a great cafe.

If I become a doTERRA rep, how much will I earn?

Honestly, its up to you.

The more you share the oils the more money you will make. You need to ask yourself, how much do I want to earn and what am I willing to do to earn it. Hoping you will be successful is not enough, taken action is the key to success.

Why you want to make money?

Do you need to pay off debts?
Do you want to travel more?
Do you want some extra money to repair a summer house?
Do you simply want to feel more economically secure?

Whatever your reason is, understanding your why will get you there. The chart below will give you an idea of what you will needed to achieve success.

It is important to be realistic. Think carefully about your goals. Think how you are going to achieve them.

What will happen if I cannot achieve my goals?

Nothing will happen.

I am not your boss and I am not going to bother you all the time. This is your business and my role is to help and support you. If you choose not to work on your business, that is your business. I have many people in my team that need more close support.

However, for those who really want to take action, I mentor a few key people to kick start their businesses.

Is it possible to make money from day one as a doTERRA consultant?

The simple answer is YES!

The two areas you can make money fast as a wellness advocate is from the Retail customer bonus and the Fast start bonus.

Retail Customer Bonus: The retail bonus means you purchase products at wholesale and the customer buys from you are retail. You will earn 25 percent from all retail orders.

Fast Start Bonus: The Fast start bonus is money you earn from someone in your team. You earn 5 to 20% of the PV or any orders placed by new wellness advocates or wholesale customers that you personally enroll within their first 60 days.

Is doTERRA a pyramid scheme?

No! Pyramid schemes are illegal.

A pyramid scheme pays money for enrolling others into the scheme rather than selling customers products. If there is no product to sell, it is a pyramid scheme.

doTERRA is a multi-level marketing company. It has a full range of products and does not pay distributors for enroll others. Earnings come directly from selling products to the customer. The MLM method is simply a marketing model that works very well for this type of product. This allows people like you and me to make money from home.

The reason why MLM companies get a bad reputation is because the expectation of new reps outweighs the reality. People new to the industry easily believe the hype. Those who have a clearer understanding of MLM are normally more successful. doTERRA is not a get rich quick scheme and you will not be a millionaire by next week. However, if you work hard you can make a nice living without a large investment, apart from your time and energy.

I don't want to be a sales person!

If you use the oils naturally by offering a solution to an existing problem you are offering a service and not selling a product that nobody wants.

The doTERRA consultants role is to educate and support people through the use of essential oils. Once your customer understands you are there to help them they will search for you.

I am already a doTERRA consultant, can you mentor me?

No, I am afraid not. You will need to speak to your enroller and ask them for help and support.

It is important to say at this point

Unless you are a self starter in network marketing, who you enroll with will be the difference between success and failure.

Not all wellness advocates are equal. So, consider carefully before joining a friend or a local. Technology has changed everything and so if you live in the US, Europe or Australia you can enroll be mentored.
